The role of the Senior Accountant is to manage AMSG’s Daily and Monthly Finance and Accounting functions for projects located in Ghana.

Main Responsibilities & Duties
- Timely and accurate preparation of reports for stakeholders on daily, weekly, monthly and /or a yearly basis.
- Preparation monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
- Maintenance of the general ledger.
- Assist in reporting budgeting and analysis functions of AMS
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Management of the Accounts Payable Function and team
- Preparation of tax calculations and returns, including CIT, WHT, VAT, etc.
- Preparation of the Pain and Gain calculations and documentation for the AGA audit
- Co-management of all external audits including PWC, GRA, AGA Pain & Gain, etc.
Sets up new suppliers and accounts in Pronto once approved. - Compliance with any other In-country and/or Australian statutory requirements within the scope of Daily operations.
- Liaise with sites and other Admin areas, to ensure greatest possible understanding of systems and procedures as they relate to site interaction with central Admin function.
- Use of personal skills to change or make suggestions for change, as appropriate, within the Accounting function, for the Continuous Development of AMS operations.
- Support the training and development of National Accounts Staff.
- Comply with company policies and procedures, and all statutory requirements in any countries where the role might be performed.
- Any other responsibilities and duties that are deemed to be appropriate for this position and assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

Qualifications, Specifications & Experience
Education Requirements
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
- Professional Qualification – ICA, ACCA is required.
- CIMA will be a plus.
Technical &Generic Skills

Work Experience
- Good knowledge of financial software Pronto or any other.
- At least 4 years working experience working in a commercial environment as an Accountant.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of accounting in a commercial environment.
- A basic understanding of Open Pit mining and equipment Utilized.
