CHECK LIST || Ghana Scholarship Secretariat pays second batch of beneficiaries
The Ghana Scholarships Secretariat following a directive from H. E. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on December 1, 2020, in a Press Conference dubbed the ‘Big Announcement, formally opened the online scholarship application portal. This was to accord applicants the opportunity to apply for a scholarship for their tertiary education.
Local Tertiary Scholarship was introduced by H. E. President Akufo-Addo in the year 2017 and had it decentralized and digitized in the 2019/2020 academic year.
The scholarship covers academic facility user fees or tuition fees for all accredited local tertiary institutions, both public and private.
Currently, the second batch of payments has been made to three thousand, five hundred and seventy-one (3,571) beneficiaries across all districts in Ghana. This ranges from all levels of tertiary education and a mix of all programmes of study.
