Job Description
- Job Title: Account Officer

We are looking for an Account Officer to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. An eligible candidate is an accountant who is capable of auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements, and calculating tax payments and returns. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes.
The accountant will work closely with the MD and operations personnel and handle day-to-day bookkeeping. Ultimately, the incumbent will provide us with accurate quantitative information on the financial position and cash flows of our business, while ensuring we’re compliant with all tax regulations.

Responsibilities
- Accountant responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements, and calculating tax payments and returns
- Experience in the use of accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
- Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statement, and other reports
- Preparation and filing of forms for payments of taxes and other obligations
- Follow up on outstanding advances and assure timely reconciliation
- Control and enter all expenses from the petty cash
- Reconcile advances, including review of receipts, coding of expenses on the general voucher, and entering into QuickBooks
- Create all financial reports as requested by the supervisor
- To undertake other duties as reasonably assigned by supervisors
- Responsible for routine conduct of physical check of assets including IT equipment and inventories.
Education and Experience
- HND/Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance, or relevant discipline from a recognized University or College
- At least 2 years post service working experience
- Hands-on experience in the use of accounting software
