POSITION: Senior Operations Geologist
JOB PURPOSE/RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY OBJECTIVES
- Executional operations geologist role
- Interface with the planning teams (Exploration asset team and Development team in London)
- Hosting Operations Geology morning update calls
(also with partners where necessary) with the London technical teams (Jubilee and TEN teams) - Coordinate data transfer requirements to NOC- government authorities field questions from authorities directly at meetings or indirectly via email on operations-geology
- Coordinate wellsite geological team, paying particular attention to the quality of service provided
- Coordinate wireline witness services in conjunction with the Operations Petrophysicist /Wireline
- Witness Lead and Reservoir Engineer.
- The single point operations geologist contact between the rig (rigs) and the office planning teams in Accra
- Available 24 hours a day if operational requirements dictate (logging-drilling-ops issues)
- Ensuring G&G operational requirements are met
- Coordinate contract wash-up meetings on wireline logging, LWD, coring and mud logging
- Meet wellsite geologists briefing and key contractors for discussions on execution of activities
- Making sure operational delivery consistent with government regulations (and partner expectations)
- Interface with logging, mud logging, wireline witness and wellsite geology contractors
- Liaise with wellsite geologists for morning, afternoon and ad hoc updates (delegate this where necessary)
- Check operational content of well proposals and drilling programmes and implement – deliver
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Geology or Geoscience subject
BUSINESS BEHAVIOURS
- 15+ years wellsite geology, mud logging and operations geology experience
- Offshore (deepwater) experience important Must have spent significant period as mud logger and/or wellsite geologist
- Must of spend some time as Operations Geologist (office based) in executional role
